CONCEPT DESIGN

Troutbeck Resort & Conference Center
Amenia, New York

The Troutbeck Resort, originally built upon a 1900 English Tudor design for the Springaarten Family, is on the same site of a 1776 Dutch stone and brick house in picturesque Dutchess County. This historical site was the place of the founding of the NAACP, as well to literary guests such as Emerson, Steinbeck and Hemmingway.

The design called for the  renovation of the existing main building, the addition of a new Spa, salon, fitness center, indoor pool, and four new guest room buildings housing 24 – 2 bedroom lockouts, which would be fractional units, all designed in the English Tudor style with private balconies and ground floor gardens. The buildings are situated along the banks of a trout-filled river.  DiGuiseppe prepared all concept design and received overwhelming acclaim and approval from the local zoning and planning board.
