A full service Spa Hotel occupying 42,000 square feet with 26 large Suites including 5 large 800 square foot duplexes. The project included a 10,000 sf spa, which includes a fitness center, spa café, lounge, lockers, spa store, and salon. The facility has a full service restaurant, prefunction and meeting space, which features a 1940’s crystal chandelier salvaged from the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach. This modern four star resort, nestled in the entrance to the Catskill Mountains, and bordering on the Esopus River, was designed to incorporate the owners’ love of the influences of the Silk Road. Redesign and renovation of 177 guest rooms and corridors of this historic property, listed on the National Register of Historic Hotels. The redesign of the 103, 600 sf suites were divided into living and sleeping areas which incorporate a double-king bedroom arranagement. The project concept calls for a new 250 room conference center hotel that mirrors the historical Casino and Carousel on the Boardwalk in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The design incorporated the the reuse and retrofit of the historical boardwalk buildings into a catering facility, full service spa, bar and indoor pool. Project concept for a second facility for the recently opened Emerson Resort & Spa in Mount Tremper calls for a 40 room boutique, full service hotel along with 40 fractional residential units set in a sloping site that affords treeline views at balcony height. The facility has a full service spa, restaurant and indoor and outdoor pool and bar / lounge.
All hotel rooms and fractional units have unobstructed views of the Catskill Mountains to the north and south. The design concept includes Art Deco elements found in the public architecture of upstate New York.
The Troutbeck Resort incorporates a 1900 English Tudor Manor House design, on the same site of a 1776 Dutch stone and brick house in picturesque Dutchess County. This historical site was the location for the founding of the NAACP, as well as numerous literary guests.
The design called for the renovation of the existing main building, the addition of a new Spa, salon, fitness center, indoor pool, and four new buildings housing 24 two bedroom lockouts, which would be guestroom/fractional units. They were all designed in the English Tudor Manor House style with private balconies and ground floor gardens. The buildings are situated along the banks of a trout-filled river. This 400 room full service hotel was transformed architecturally from a brick faced Holiday Inn Express to a new glass and metal clad Crown Plaza. The hotel sits directly across from the New Seneca Hotel and Casino. The renovation included the redesign of all guestrooms, new restaurant and bar, all public spaces, entries, and the addition of one of the largest Starbucks in the country. Sentry Hospitality owns and manages the facility. DiGuiseppe provided architectural services for this project, which opened in 2007. Click on the image for more details.
The project concept was to design a 20 story building in the heart of downtown Asheville. The building would be LEED certified and incorporate Asheville’s Art Deco character. The project was commissioned by the Grove Park Inn in Asheville - the Santa Fe of the East. The building concept presented by DiGuiseppe called for 125 Hotel rooms on the lower levels, with 45 condos on the top floors.
