184 JORALEMON STREET
Project Description : Multi Family
184 Joralemon Street, the former Brooklyn Law School residence in Brooklyn Heights, a 1901 Beaux Arts building was entered into Landmark Status in the fall of 2012. DiGuiseppe Architect converted this 12 story building into 23 two bedroom rental apartments and 1 unique ground floor studio, as well as provided all Landmarks filings and drawings. The front door was designed in the Beaux Arts genre, the facade was cleaned and repainted and a new canopy added. While the exterior was sensitively restored , DiGuiseppe designed the interior in a modern vernacular way, including the apartment interiors, lobby, corridors and elevators, while partially exposing and maintaining the original brick walls in the building, and an iconic central staircase. DiGuiseppe blended the character of old and new architecture and with a nod to the Carlo Scarpa. |
